September,
2011 Show Review
By Joyce Jackson
|
|
The
SCBC’s September show was held in Allison Hall.
Both Barbeque and Hamburgers were served before the
show. Ice
cream and ice cream floats were also available.
We had a nice crowd.
Everyone enjoyed the show and were talking about the
festival next month.

They entertained us with Blue Night, John Hardy,

was next in the line-up.
Members are Jimmy Fischer-banjo, John

True Blue, then on to Moundsville Pen, She Goes Walking

Per request,
Jimmy and Buddy performed Ruben’s Train.
Jimmy told us about a book he purchased from
Amazon.com. The
title is “Man of the House”. I don’t think he would
recommend it.
Good job!

Third Rail |
 |
The last group to play was
“Third Rail”.
This was their first time to play at Coushatta Ranch
as a group.
Members are J. P. Shafer-mandolin, Suzanne Armstrong-bass
and Adam Greer-banjo and guitar.
They did No Place To Hide, Angelina Baker, Footprints
In The Snow, Sweet Blue Eyed Darling,
I’ve Seen Enough of What’s Behind Me, Lone Star State
Of Mind, Bluebonnet Lane and
Long Way To Get Back Home.
The last song they did was an acapella gospel called
“Some Day”. They
just learned the song and didn’t know the words, so they
showed their technology savvy and uploaded the words to
their smart phones, then performed it.
Another
fine job.
